How to Make a Chocolate Fountain

Parts of a Chocolate Fountain

The Motor is what drives the chocolate fountain.  The motor has a warm knob that will warm the chocolate.  There is also a bowl that will hold the chocolate and start to warm it through.
The agar part will lift the chocolate up through the machine.
Tower will hold the agar in place.
Three canopies: a large one, middle and then the top which is called the cap and this acts for dispersing the chocolate.

The heater and base unit has three different setting.  Heater heats up your chocolate. Heater motor will start your chocolate up through the canopies and back through the bowl.
Put the bowl on top of the motor where the chocolate stays in, this should lock in with the base.  The agar which will lift the chocolate up to the top, this part will go on top of the bowl and then the tower  will go over the top of the agar, then the guard goes on top of this all the way to the bottom of the bowl to keep the chocolate from overflowing.  Then the canopies go one on top of the other over the tower, first the large one and then the medium one and then the cap goes on top to disperse the chocolate.

Choosing the Right Chocolate

Premium chocolate, which has 40% cocoa, is the best chocolate to use and does not require the addition of heeps of oil.   Chocolate which is not premium requires lots more oil. 48oz or 8 cups of non premium chocolate chips need 8.5 cups of oil.  48oz of premium chocolate need only one cup of oil.  The oil in both chocolates allow the chocolate to flow smoothly through the fountain.

Steps Into Making a Chocolate Fountain

Assemble a double broiler to melt the chocolate slowly over direct heat without burning it.  For the double broiler use a large pan with a vessel on top. In the larger pan add water and put heat on high and allow to boil.  Once the water boils turn the heat down to low and allow the water to simmer.  Add the chocolate in the smaller vessel when water is simmering on low heat and melt 48oz of chocolate with the required oil.  Make sure to keep an eye on it, you want to melt the chocolate smoothly.  You can use the microwave but this method gives you better control over the chocolate.

Melted chocolate should be put in the chocolate fountain’s preheated bowl of 3-5 minutes.   Then put the canopies with the cap on top and your ready to go!  Turn the machine on and you will begin to see the chocolate fall!

ENJOY!
